KIDS Jiu jitsu

Brazilian Jiu jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focusing largely on grappling and ground fighting taught to children of ages 6 and above. It utilizes natural body leverage and proper technique to obtain dominant control on the ground. BJJ has been proven when used properly, to be an effective method for dealing with bigger and stronger opponents and has become increasingly popular due in part to its great success in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

How kids Jiu Jitsu can benefit your child:

Discipline – Strength and agility training are a part of every class. The kids will be taught numerous techniques that will need practice. Even though every class can contain a new technique, previous techniques will be reviewed and refined.

Concentration – Kids are taught movements that can have multiple steps and therefore learn concentration skills in every class.

Teamwork – As with all martial arts, Jiu Jitsu takes time, discipline, and control. Your child will become part of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team and get all the support and guidance that comes with it.

Improve children’s social skills – When kids train in Jiu Jitsu, they learn to communicate and trust their coach and teammates.

Enhance self confidence and self control – As kids train, they get better and better and see their own progress. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu isn’t easy. As your child attends each training and puts in the hard work, they’ll gain confidence in themselves

Teaches you the value of hard work – While some of the techniques will come easy to your child, it will take discipline and time to become proficient at others.

Teaches you self defense – Jiu Jitsu has shown its effectiveness since 1993 UFC 1 where Royce Gracie dominated his opponents from various fighting disciplines while at the same time being out weighed by most of the competitors. Jiu Jitsu is one of the best martial arts to learn to use an opponents force and momentum against them.
